New on the Steemit block!

Hello everyone!

My name is Brianna and I'm (finally) going to start frequenting this site more. I've seen some great posts so far and I want to contribute and share what I know too.

I'm a mom of two (boy and a girl), a wife and a veteran. Currently, I live in Mississippi on family land with our horses, chickens, and dogs. Our biggest dream is to one day have a large chunk of land that we are living sustainably on and preferably off the gird.

One day at a time though, right?

I'm a budding herbalist, leathercrafter, and beadwork artist (would that be right?). The leather work I'm learning from my kind and generous friend, @elew. She made me the most beautiful pair of moccasins and graciously agreed to teach me as best she could via messaging back and forth. Thankfully she takes amazing photos and is a really great teacher. I've learned a lot from her and will be sharing the work I make on here soon.

She's also the one helping me to learn where to find the best guides for beading work as well. Isn't she great? I think so personally.

I hope to learn a lot around here.

My favorite things are:

  • hunting
  • horses
  • leathercrafting
  • learning about herbalism
  • working outside on the land
  • walking through the woods
  • learning new skills that help us move off grid

Things you can expect to see from me

I'll be posting a little of the following on here:

  • Life around the homestead
  • Life around our camper
  • Horses
  • Chickens
  • Leathercrafts
  • Herbal concoctions I'm trying
  • Homeschooling things I'm learning as I go
  • Photography from out and about

I can't wait to share things on here and find a community to be apart of :).

Hope you have a wonderful December!

Welcome to steemit Brianna. @elew makes some beautiful items so I am sure she will be a great leatherwork teacher.

This is the list of homesteaders and preppers that @elew mentioned. You might find this useful for finding other likeminded folk :

Let me know if you would like to be added to the list.

Thank you @pennsif! I would love to be added :) and will definitely look at the others things!

And @elew does make some beautiful things. I'm honored to be taught by her.

Geeze, you're makin me blush :P What a great photo of the kids, and really nice intro post...

@pennsif keeps a running list of all us preppers and homesteaders, so a good person to follow. And they have made a great Discord channel HomesteadersOnline here https://discord.gg/ARhhpT

I am glad to see you posting <3

Aw lol :). Nothing but the truth though. And thank you. It's about the only one they're not making weird faces in haha.

Thank you for the Discord link too!

I am going to try and aim for 1-2 posts a week (if the kids don't run me ragged first) lol.
