When I was doing this field research I laughed at myself and had to send a picture to my friend because its been almost a year since i have had a professional haircut. I just chop around on it and manufacture something out of it. Have to be frugal with the insight I'm going to give you. The economy is way worse than most are leading on at the same time AI is chopping out the need for a lot of skilled workers.
For this mission I deployed Nerd Game 🤓 and extreme fuck off game. 🤪
What was ultimately learned was that even Masters students in Computer Science at a University that is top 20 in CS with good grades, and experience at two fortune 500 companies aren't getting offers.
The opportunities were getting thin for white men long ago and there has been a huge push for DEI hiring of women and minorities. Now its hitting women hard as well.
A lot of companies are clinching up their hiring and laying people off. Obviously we knew the Biden administration was lying to us about the jobs data. Evidently they had padded the numbers by 600,000 jobs.
Myself and a friend in Tucson who is in accounting had already determined that the job market is actually the worse we had ever seen.
It is shocking and I think that is a reason we have seen a substantial burn off in crypto. With inflation and hoflation burning dudes funds up and wages not keeping up with any of that I'm thinking not as many people have been able to allocate to crypto like they would like.
Ultimately I told this chick what I have told everyone else previously. That we have two years and the automation and AI will eliminate 85% of jobs. It's going to come down to who can become hyper efficient with this technology to do the work of 10 or more people.
The competition globally has gotten so intense and then the advancements and updates of these AI models it gets nerve racking on what you have to be capable of and how fast do you have to crank out results.
I told the chick that AI has made me better but for her stuff its not really able to help her coding at this time because its on a higher level and she has more reps more recently on more advanced code. I did tell her about AI agents which she might be able to set up to apply for jobs for her.
In a more normalized year students that are performing on that level are getting placed pretty easily. She got a full ride to get her Masters at Purdue and she is legitimately smart. Not just book smart.
All I can say is if you screw up enough you can just shave your head. I wish everyone luck out there!
