Both Facebook (app) and Facebook.com need to take serious steps in order to reduce the amount of advertising and product endorsement they allow on their site.
For years and years now Facebook users have becoming more frustrated over time at the amount of adverts and spam content that they see and their pages, this had also become a concerning issue for those individuals that are using the Facebook app on a daily basis.
Many users feel that the interface allows for adverts to ruin or hinder their online and in app experienced which has caused millions of users to voice concern for extended periods of time.
This has prompted Facebook to take serious steps to try and make users experiences better on the social media.
Facebook's Director of social media stated :
“The down ranking of publishers’ content in news feed is not likely to kill any publishers in the short or medium term, but it will add more reasons for them to think about how they make money, and whether a subscription-based business model is now the way to go as another big chunk of its traffic disappears and on-site ad revenue evaporates.”
Many users are strongly hoping that these steps will increase their user experience in a positive manner.
