The Biopsy is Complete

Just back from the hospital, everything went well. Won't have any results until the end of next week but the surgeon did say everything looked normal. That doesn't mean they won't find anything but I have a lot more confidence than I did yesterday.

The procedure itself was a bit weird for me. Because of where the lump was I thought I was just going to have to take my pants off but once the surgeon was ready it turned into a full monty type deal and I just had a flimsy sheet to cover my junk.

While the procedure was happening I had my right leg kind of flopped over to the side a bit awkwardly, would have been a bit better if I had done some stretches before going in. The surgeon just used some local freezing. Was totally painless, surgeon sliced me open and after a bit of cauterizing (also nice to get a whiff of your own burning flesh) got right to work. The lump is roughly 1 by 1 and a half inches and the biopsy he took out was still a decent size but I still have a lot of lump left. After the biopsy he stitched me back up and sent me on my way. I was surprised by how long the stitching took and I never asked how many he did.

I'm a bit stiff and have to rest for a few days. Doctors orders are pretty basic, I keep the dressing on for two days and need to ice the area as much as I can. I should have some swelling and bruising but hopefully no other issues.

Bottom line I feel much better today than yesterday. I'm very happy to have the biopsy done and don't have too much waiting before I get some news and scheduled for my next surgery.
