I'd say one of the most important things is missing... read to them. Tell them stories, engage with them. build Duplo with them, draw stupid stuff with them.

I dislike the opening though... a high sense of discipline is not something that a parent should be seeking in his children. Teach them to trust and understand you, it's far more productie, and obedience will come natural.
And not too much of it.
