An Immortal Creature - Hydra

Have you ever heard that a creature can always survive?

This is definitely astonishing, but in a recent research, an organism that has never been detected has died. The name of this organism found in fresh water is hydra.

Hydra is one centimeter long according to one study. Its age is unknown. Under ideal conditions, it can survive without any effect of age. However, after its maturation, its reproductive capacity declines. Scientists believe that it can be indispensable in all multicellular organisms.

Professor Daniel Martinez said at the Pomona College of America that I believe Hydra can always survive in favorable conditions. I started my original study with the notion that Hydra is not untouched by the effects of old age, but I have proved my own figures wrong.

According to Martinez, many hours passed during this trial, but he hoped that this test would inspire other scientists to discover immortality. Hydra's original body is made up of stem cells, with very few splitting cells. Because the stem cells are continuously divided and able to form new cells. Therefore, by continuously creating new cells in Hydra's body, it is able to remain constant.
