My very own Argentine Asado (barbecue)

in life •  8 years ago

I have seen some posts under the #bbq tag and I thought I will share the asado I cooked for my family-in-law yesterday.

I must admit that not being originally from Argentina makes it a bit harder, the typical argentine asado is not like the traditional barbecue, it is cooked with firewood, lots of salt (that’s the only ingredient) and slowly cooked for 1 or 2 hours. But to be honest I think what really makes the different is the argentinian meat which is pretty amazing!

hehe give me a call if you ever come down to argentina, I will cook us one huge asado!

Oh my goodness! I come from south africa where we "braai" which is pretty much the same as Barbecue, and we do it a lot nearly every weekend. So you can imagine the quality is good.

BUT when i went to Chile to visit my brother i experienced an Argentine Asado, and oh my greatness that was one of THE most incredibly tasting meats i have ever tasted. Definately a 10/10.

haha yeah, I think Argentina and Uruguay are amognst top countries when it comes to meat... there is awesome meat in the U.S. and Brazil too.... havent been to South Africa but will for sure ask for a braai once I am there!

Do it! Ask for Boerewors and Braai Broedjties , you wont be disappointed ;)
