I think one of the major problems with our current public educational system is that children are educated to serve a purpose for the industry and to supply a demand from the industry. This works very well if the childs interests and hobbies coincide with the demand of the industry but goes terribly wrong when these interests differ. It is no secret that humans learn most efficiently if they choose to do so voluntarily and learn inefficiently when forced to learn something against their will.
