I just came across these old photos of my beautiful cats, when they were a few months old, back in 2012 - so sweet - they were sisters with the same dad, a big ginger Norwegian forest cat. Amelie, the more forest-cat-like one, died very sadly when she was a couple of years old, following a violent blow to her head with a broom, by the old lady next door :-( Amelie was one of those magical cats who seemed to have a spiritual purpose in my life: she is still missed hugely.

It's amazing how different these two were: the more-Siamese one, Penelope, is still with me - she must be about 7 yrs old now. She's just a typical cat-cat: wants biscuits, miaows a lot with her Siamese heritage, complains when things change, and sleeps abotu 98% of the day - but she's a sweet companion, and we enjoy hanging out together - she gets much more friendly and smiling in warmer weather, but mostly spends the winter glaring at me as if it's my fault it's cold :-)

Just wanted to make a wee post honouring how important cats are in domestic life <3

Happy Monday, beautiful humans,

xx Clare

I'm sorry to hear about Amelie. Your neighbour was really cruel... 😕

Thank you so much, @trincowski - yes - it was such a senseless act - my cats were always both very well disciplined, and would stop what they were doing or run away if you simply said 'no!' in a slightly raised, firm voice - but the neighbour was violent just because sweet Amelie was sleeping in her flower pot 😔
