Most people had already went to visit their respective cemeteries where their loved ones were resting in peace here in my part of the planet. However, some families are opting in for cremation which I guess is much pocket-friendly for families to choose and they get to keep the ashes inside an urn they so chose. Anyway, the day of the dead is an occasion that just basically remembering the dead here in my country and a testament that truly our loved ones are continued to be remembered many years after their death from the newborn up to the very distant elders of the clan.
For my case I do not know or haven't had the chance the origins of my forefathers like the father of my grandfather in my mother's side because I guess that photography is not a thing yet here in my country, plus they grew in the countryside or my great grandfather even might be a son of a Chinese for all we know. For the information about the origins of my great, great grandfather in my father's side of the family, I only know that he lived from another town and that's it.
But for me the dead are already departed and there are no more means of remembering and even prayers will ever do something to any of them because their flesh had already turned to the a soil and their spirits had went to God that gave it and we can read it from the Bible. That is why if the person is still living, we must express our love and care to them because when they die they will not have the ability to appreciate your expression of love anymore. So it is just tragic for you to miss a chance of doing what you want and for a person and then missing put on it because you thought that the person will not depart and yet you get into the point that you had regretted in not doing it when you have all the chance in doing so. That is also why if we want to do something in this world, we have to do it right away for the reason that we know not what the morrow will bring us as written also in the bible.
Our time in this world is very limited and very short, I can't even believe that I am not young anymore. Like the Bible says, the real life is in heaven and that is what we have to target in going because in heaven there are no more struggles, pain, crying, and all negative things that we experience in this world. In order to reach heaven we have to learn to love one another and it is the wisdom that the Lord Jesus Christ teaches along with his disciples. But we only have a limited time to do it because of our short stay here on earth which is why say the term "If there is still life, there is still hope". That is also why it will be too late to express your love to a person once that person dies for the reason that he cannot enjoy nor will he know what you will do after had he/she is gone as the spirit if the person comes back to God and the tangible body goes back to the soil (Ecclesiastes 12:7).
