I spent the night with a friend so had to catch a taxi in the middle of town still in my outfit from the night before, it was not my finest moment! ๐๐
I eventually returned to the lodge to a round of applause from the others, after blushing and bowing I ran to our room to pack before hopping in another taxi to lunch at the pub with the rest of the gang who had stayed over. We were a sight for sore eyes. Bleary eyed, talking in whispers and drinking them out of Bloody Mary's in the first hour. After a good feed we slowly left in drips and drabs, heading for the train back to King's Cross in London.
Mum, Mungo, Joany and I arrived at the station and I left them to get the tickets, by this stage I was beyond even a simple conversation with a teller.
As Sod's Law would have it there was a problem with another line so the train was full and all we could door was stand in the aisle, packed in like sardines.
After about 10 minutes I couldn't stand or keep my eyes open any longer and slid into a tiny space on the floor to prop my head up on my hands. I fell asleep intermittently waking up with my neck hanging awkwardly to one side or another and my head aching in response. Finally we made it back to London and heaved our bags off the train before saying goodbye to the others and heading straight to Pret for a sandwich on the way to the waiting Uber.
I don't think I've ever been so glad to see a sofa! Or a pillow! I went through a few photos before admitting defeat and climbing into bed hoping to be slightly less useless in the morning.
(hungover) Love,
Daisy xx
