Behind the celebration of Holi, devotee Prahlad has the main role. The devotee of Lord Vishnu, Prahlad's, father tried to kill him for not worshipping his own father, for this Prahlad's father asked his sister Holika to take Prahlad in her lap and sit in the fire because it was a boon that Holika did not get burnt in the fire. Since Prahlad was a devotee of Lord Vishnu, therefore there was no harm in this fire, whereas the Holika was dead by getting burnt. Since that day every year, this festival is celebrated as a victory of good over evil.
