4,400,000,000 Devices will be connected to the internet by 2020

and some estimates are as high as 50 billion devices. Despite this, plans to bring internet access to the poorest nations is off track and may take until 2042.

Around 40% of the world population has an internet connection today and in 1995 it was less than 1%.

"Goal 9. Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation
9.c Significantly increase access to information and communications technology and strive to provide universal and affordable access to the Internet in least developed countries by 2020"

We need to make sure that access to information becomes universal and remains free.

great words by nikola tesla...

To add to your post, there is good internet penetration in developing countries and this will go a long way in connecting those remote areas to the "mainstream world". Doing business is going digital. Thanks for the info.

I wish Nikola Tesla could've completed that Wardenclyffe Tower. The world would've been different today.
