Short, fun post from me today.

When I was a kid I was made to write letters with pen and paper. Actually it was pencil and paper as I wasn’t trust with a pen. I liked drawing on the walls too much.

Man, did I hate it. It took so long and I never knew what to put in the letter. Ancient uncles and aunts expected a thank you letter though. When I grew up the old souls used to compliment me on being such a good letter writer. Little did they know my childhood self used to curse them.

Bills also came in the mail. The dreaded brown envelope dropped on the front door mat. Mum dealt with the household accounts but we all quaked in case there wasn’t enough funds to pay them.

I don’t remember there being many mailshots but if any came they gave Dad a conversation piece for weeks.

Now we use email for most official communications. Texts are good for messages and we all have our favourite social media sites.

Must say, I prefer today’s methods.

Do you like the idea of the much more personal ‘snailmail’? Or do you like today’s instant social contact?

I'd be interested to hear.

Oh those tempting walls. My youngest child still wrestles with this vice.

Vice? Vice? It's a right of passage, lol. It's one of the first chances you get to practice your art and annoy grown ups. Can't be bad :) Thanks for reading and commenting.

Yeah, I guess it is avanteguard. Perhaps if I encourage him he will stop. :)

ha ha, yeah
