When mustard plants ripen, they need to be harvested. Once they are ready, they are cut and left to dry in the sun for a few days in the field. After drying, the plants are threshed using cattle to separate the mustard seeds.
All the harvested plants are gathered in one place and left under the sun until they become completely dry and brittle.
Once dried properly, they are again trampled under the feet of cattle to extract the mustard seeds. The drying process depends on the intensity of the sunlight—the stronger the sun, the faster they dry. If the sunlight is weak, it takes longer for the mustard plants to dry completely.
Mustard seeds have many uses. Mustard oil is extracted from them, and they can also be used in cooking. Various traditional dishes and snacks are made using mustard. It is an essential crop in our country, and mustard farming is widely practiced in many areas.
