In Rio to the past are no special reverence. Maybe because the climate here is not particularly destructive and old buildings are kept longer than in other places. I love graffiti art. Highly underestimated. There's also the criminality aspect of it that make me wonder if the artists created the work in a rush (to avoid the police or the property owners). I imagine that in other places, however, there's little to no police enforcement, which allows these artists to spend more time with their work.
