Fears I'm trying to overcome - What are yours?

in life •  7 years ago

Phobia - panicky fear of something, an uncontrollable, animal horror in front of some scene, sound, feeling, phenomenon. Like any person (and especially a girl), I have fears over various things.

One of my fears is a fear of heights or professionally called acrophobia.

I am cautious to all unknown. I can not stand too long on a cliff in the mountains, on the roof of a tall building, on the bridge, when I do not have support or a leverage. In other words, this concept denotes the fear of falling from a height. According to statistics, acrophobia affects about 5% of the population.

This does not mean that I'm always afraid and I am not able to stay on top or fly on an airplane. A few years ago I dealt with climbing and felt safe with the equipment. But I never understood those who walk on the edge of the roof or ride on high-rise buildings on a scooter. In such extreme situations, care must be taken.

Many people will understand this phobia as a fear of depth, which is called bathophobia.

This is a panicky feeling of fear when a person feels under him the "watery abyss," an infinite space that will absorbs him. I can safely dabble by the shore, but as soon as I lose control of the ground under my feet, panic begins.

Some people think that it's enough just to learn how to swim, and the phobia will pass by itself, but even the excellent swimmers can have such a fear. Simply someone is afraid to swim in the deep, because they do not know how to swim and are afraid of drowning. Or, a person is afraid that in the depths are hidden terrible monsters, who are just waiting for the moment to attack and ruthlessly tear you with their teeth. It's almost the same when you go into a dark room and you're afraid there's a monster under the bed waiting for you (but I'm not afraid of it).

Also, one of my fears is tryphofobia.

Perhaps you did not meet the word trypophobia, which is a fear of accumulations of small holes, small cluster formations. It can be macro photography of plants, animals and various objects. It is interesting that tryphobobia manifests itself only when a person encounters somewhere with a mention of him or various photos, which, in fact, cause fear. And to me it's all terribly disgusting, I can not calmly look at this photo.

Maybe I look like a timid girl, but I'm facing my fears. In the summer I jumped into the water from the cliff, although I'm afraid of the height and depth. Also, I want to jump with a parachute to stop being afraid of heights. All fears can be overcome, you only need to challenge yourself (but I'm afraid the fear of those nasty holes will never vanish).

Brave are not those who fear nothing, but the ones who feel the fear and do it anyway.

What are you afraid of?

Your fears seem pretty rational to me! But i like your approach... It's important to constantly push our boundaries and grow stronger.

Good luck on your journey. Followed because you write well. ;)

Yes, I can agree with you that this kind of approach is the most important thing when dealing with our fears. Thanks for the nice comment! :)

I live with social anxiety. I take a lot of necessary nutrients so that it isn't as bad. Still it seems to be there, just not as much.

I am sorry to hear about your condition. I hope you'll get better.

I want to make you a company in a parachute jump, for example, in late spring, do you think?

Я бы с удовольствием,только мой переезд врядли позволит осуществить задуманное.
