My first term at uni

in life •  8 years ago

Now that I have less than a week to go until my mum comes to pick me up I have started to reflect back on all of the learning curves and the memories of my first term here at uni. I never realised how many memories would stack up in such a short amount of time and how many new friends I would make. Whilst uni has a large social aspect there is also the uni aspect of going to lectures and getting all of the work done in time. I remember when the people in the year above me were in their first year telling me how the first year doesn't count and how much fun it is. Well, I have never had so much work to do in such a short amount of time. I don't think I have had a single night where I can fully relax and have time to myself because I am either pulling all nighters to get this work done and out of the way or I am stressing about the work that needs to be done.
In total I have had projects that make up 50% of my final mark for this year. In less than 3 months that is quite a lot of work, not to mention all of the hours I have had to put in for editing as well as having a part time job on top of that. I knew that university wouldn't be easy but I wasn't expecting to be thrown into the deep end like this. At least I know what to expect for when I come back in January to start the 2nd term.
