Personal Steemit Goal From Now On.

Well, I've been on Steemit since March 2 of this year. Recently, I decided to start a new habit of not voting for myself for the foreseeable future. It's sort of like a #NoSelfVoteChallenge.

It's also a silent way to be the opposite of many giant self voters out there.

I don't have a lot of SP, so in theory, it really doesn't matter whether or not I vote for my own contents or comments. However, I figure it is better to chisel out my mannerism on Steemit early than putting it off until later.

Maybe I will change in the future. But now, I'm going to keep this up and continue my #FreeToPlay attempt at Steemit.

I've never voted for myself in all the time I've been here. It would just feel weird doing it. Everyone feels differently about it and I've found that the best is to do what feels right for you.

An excellent approach :)

Here at newbieresteem we love to see people with 0% self voting! I suggest checking out @abh12345 and his curation leagues - he loves no-self-voting and he gives away sbd for those who make great comments and votes! Just check his blog - he does one each Sunday and you sign up just by commenting on the post. Good luck hope to see you over there!

Congratulations you have been upvoted and resteemed as part of #newbieresteemday's top 10 posts for the day! ...

Thanks for the mention @newbieresteemday!

For people just starting out on seemit, they really do need to understand, that voting for themselves is not going to help. A new user if they want to try and preserve their votes, really only has 10-15 votes a day to spare. Using a vote on yourself is a missed opportunity to vote and comment on a post you like. It is not required to ever vote on a post and leave a comment, there are a lot of different people on steemit. Some of the opinion if you liked my post enough to comment then you should have voted, lots of those types out their, ignore them, I have 3 or 4 of those type people on mute.

Games:, there are a lot of games out there. Not all of them require a vote or a resteem or have complicated rules. Most of the games prizes are based on the post payout, so a vote is often a good Idea if you are going to play, but like I said there are a lot of games that are free to play, and not as restrictive as others.

My personal feelings on a vote strategy for a new user is 5 for content that you like and are going to comment on. This lets the content creator know that you enjoyed their post. I would use five votes to reward the people that vote and comment on your work. This lets the person know you appreciated them taking the time to read your work, to vote on your work, and leave a nice comment. (don't vote for the bots though).

For the remaining maybe 5 votes, use one for a contest if it is a contest that looks like it is something you will enjoy. A couple of the other votes could be to give a vote on one of the pages/post that you liked and you see a really really well engaged comment on the other persons content. Give them a vote, make a comment how you thought their comment was very insightful and useful to you. DO not ask them to come and visit your page, just you leaving a nice comment to their comment and a vote will likely get that person to come and see what you have.

Well just a few of my thoughts on voting, they are your votes, use them as you see fit, if someone ask or tells you you need to vote on their crap, mute them and move on.

Spoken like a true pro :D

I think that's a good habit! I used to avoid self voting for the most part, though now that I'm trying to run a contest it has become a way for me to award other people as the upvotes I give myself go right back to the people who are playing in the contest. So.. It's not necessarily always black and white, though hopefully someday we get a good enough curation trail that I no longer feel the need to do even that.

Good man!

That is some impressive stats!

By the way, I'm still keeping true to the "no bot" used policy for myself.
