Florida has declared a state of emergency in 7 counties!

Rick Scott the governor of Florida has declared a state of emergency in 7 different counties in southern Florida following the ‘red tide’ outbreak.
Red tide which scientists call a dangerous algae bloom affects not only marine life but it also affects humans & anyone living in near by areas.
It destroys the ocean , wildlife , kills millions of fish , sea turtles , & even manatees.
An estimated 400 sea turtles have been found either dead or stranded on shore.

Multiple beaches have been shut down & nearby business have been forced to close down following the outbreak.
The negative effects of red tide can cause respiratory issues in humans , itchy or red eyes , skin irritations , coughing , & sneezing.

This isn’t anything new , this has been happening for quite some time now.. I’m talking YEARS!
The first reported incident was in Florida, 1844.
Scientists claim that this is the WORST red tide outbreak since 2006.
Luckily the declaration will provide hundreds of thousands of dollars & resources to help address the ongoing issue.
