Day Out Sledding

Yesterday was a near perfect day in winter wonderland. Waking up without an alarm and going out straight after the morning tea.

Me and my little brother got the snowmobiles started and headed to the route that runs near our house. It was already something like 11.30am but we were the first ones out there. Pretty surprising because the weather was absolutely perfect, we have a lot of snow and Saturday is a day off for most people. We surely didn't mind being the only ones out there enjoying this winter wonderland with out sleds.

We only stopped once for pictures, because I don't want every great moment of my life being a full on photoshoot. The other stop was when we turned around, and my brothers sled got stuck and we spend about 20mins digging it out, fun times. I can assure you that even though it was -17 degrees Celsius, we were not feeling the cold, quite the opposite. My brother drives really fast and he had to stop once in a while for a little bit to wait for me to catch up.

This is the best kind of exercise I can think of, you'll get your whole body working really hard (and find muscles you didn't know you had) and the faster you go, the less you think about anything else. There is just something special having a machine like this between your legs and feeling the adrenaline pump through your body as you reach 80 km/h speed, ahh. You really have to concentrate on the driving, or the snowmobile throws you off really damn fast.

As we got back I was soaked with sweat and I had no strength left in my muscles. I'm so sore today and it might even get worse for tomorrow. I spent the rest of the day lounging around and taking some pics near the house, some of which you already saw.

Now I'm waiting for the sauna to heat up so I can go and try to relieve this muscle ache :D There is this apparently big thing called the Super Bowl starting in a couple hours on tv, maybe I'll watch it if I don't get sleepy after sauna.

Thank you for sharing with us your adventure .. well done. Good luck.

Haha, brilliant! Looks like a James Bond chase scene... now that's a Winter adventure :o

You're right, now we just need a super villain, a bond girl and a flamethrower on the sled! :D

Haha, was just thinking of Elon Musk...

Me three!

Straight out of james bond movie is RIGHT!

Beyond the muscle aches you had a great day, full of adrenaline!
For muscle aches in your legs I recommend putting your feet under the cold shower for 5 minutes then entering the sauna for 10 minutes. Repeat the process 3 times.

Thanks for the tip, even though I read it after coming from sauna :D I always take cold showers between sauna sessions so I did follow your advise :)

Hate sweating because of heat, especially when it's conveyed by some sort of humidity. In spite of that, you make it sound like the perfect end of the day in such scenario!

Who knows, maybe you will manage to convert me enough to make me partecipate to the Sompasauna ahah

I would like to be there the winter looks amazing, I live in Venezuela and there is not much snow for being a tropical country, please keep posting photos

That first shot is awesome! Seriously well done, I know you say you're still learning with photography but you smashed it! I love that you didn't take loads of photos, sometimes it's nice just to enjoy the moment, it's so easy to miss things when you're busy taking photos. Sometimes I look back at images and realise all of the incredible things I missed, I got them on film, but I didn't experience them!

I become more and more jealous with each sentence!!!

Snowmobiles
-17 degrees Celsius
Sauna...

I'd love to have your life. I grew up in Michigan, USA and now live in Texas. It never gets that cold here for snowmobiling or for that matter even snow. Keep the posts coming so and give me some more nostalgia.

Oh I’d love to visit Texas, I’m pretty much a red neck so I think I’d like it 😝 Let’s switch 😁

Always gotta remember to enjoy the moment and not just live behind the lens :) Looks like you had a good ride! My family is up north in MN cutting snow up a we speak, hehe.

We can be friends just in steemit lol

I hear you on "...I don't want every great moment of my life being a full on photoshoot." Yesterday, the camera was left in the car, and I just enjoyed my hike. It always fun to first on the trail! Thanks for sharing!

80 km/h !?! That is insanely fast!

I'm glad you had such a good time. But now I'm going to stay up all night worrying about you. Be careful out there!

Don’t worry, I only got to that speed on a long straigh leg of the route :)

This is so awesome! I'm in IA and we have 4 to 6 inches coming Monday. Cant wait to start up my Polaris, hit the trails and pull some friends behind with tubes. Best time of the year! I'm going to follow you, feel free to return the favor :)

Sounds amazing, have fun out there!
