Blasted Eggplant and Beef from the Green egg with noodles in a soy, garlic, honey sauce stirfry.

One of my favorite shows on Netflix is called 'mind of a chef'.

I recently saw they added a new season and I started watching it since the beginning of this week.

On one of the shows I saw the chef blast the hell out of an eggplant on an open fire and scoop out the content and I thought, I can do that too :)

As luck would have it Bianca was craving beef and we visited an Asian supermarket today.

I decided to go freestyle.

Blasted Eggplant and beef from the Green egg with noodles in a soy, garlic, honey sauce stirfry.

O with a beer, it's Friday after all.

I went inside to prepare the noodles and the sauce. Noodles in water for 6 minutes and rinse with cold water after and put aside.

IMG_3232.jpg

For the sauce I mixed, soy sauce, with a garlic paste Bianca made here, honey and toasted sesame seeds.

With that all done I went back outside. Grill time!

IMG_3233.jpg

IMG_3235.jpg

I took the meat off the grill and let it rest. The eggplant needed a little longer. I created eggplant hell by opening every valve wide open. I took it off when it was charred.

IMG_3239.jpg

I sliced the eggplant in half and scooped out its content.

It was then time to stir-fry. I got a wok and made it blazing hot. Put in the meat, eggplant, noodles, and sauce. All in all, it took 3 minutes. Bianca took pictures (I was busy stirring).

End result. It was yummy. The beef with that smokey(ish) eggplant and awesome soy sauce. Next time I'll add some red pepper, I think the dish will benefit from some 'heat'.

I'm a sucker for stir fry and that looks amazing. The sauce sounds incredible. I really dig how you and Bianca always make your own sauce and it always looks and sounds so good. We're going to have to get out of the lazy habit of buying sauces and start making our own. It will just add to the fun of the preparing the food.

I'll have to check that show out on Netflix. My wife swears by Netflix and hardly ever watches cable anymore.

Really intrigued of how SMTs can be of great benefit to Steem and the block chain. Really appreciate all the dialogue in your earlier blog man. It helped me understand what it is and what it means for the future of Steem much better.

Have a great night brother. Cheers!

The "heat" you are talking about is called "wok hei"; the breath of the "wok".

You need really intense heat for this with exceptional handling of the wok with constant tossing the "goods" around.

The searing heat then caramelizes the surface of the goods, giving it an extraordinary smoky taste.

Where I live, chiefs will cook this out in the open, very unusual sight and probably unhygienic too. But the taste is godly.

Man, I have never heard of wok hei! Thank you so much for telling me! I researched it on google and it's not easy to achieve. It takes years to learn. wow.

FANTASTIC!!!

I am hungry now!!! ... and a little thirsty.

And a chilly, some green onion and tender young broccoli for the texture.

That would be nice.

Damn it @exyle! You make it so hard to stay off the meat. That dish looks delish!
Good job on "blasting the hell" out of that eggplant :)

lol, and thanks! Much respect though for you two keeping it up!

It's hell. I'm sick of chick peas and lentils.

Dee-lish! Great job, Chef Boyardee ;0)

wow it looks exotic the delicious food, I like see your post is midday in my country

i lived in asia few years and they love to add some herbs, i think you should try to add some green seasoning to this:)

Hey @exyle, did you build that Green Egg table yourself? I need to make one for mine. I'm (obviously) an egg-head as well. I'll post my brisket info soon. I've been SUPER busy lately and have not fired up the egg in a while. I'd like to hit the farmers market in the morning to pick up some nice grass-fed beef from a local farm to throw onto it. Keep cooking and posting. You'll get my upvotes. Cheers, @rebele93

No, I did not. I got two left hands. I could never build something like that. I bought it from a store as it is (green egg and all). I love it. Not firing it up happened to me too. But once you use it again and are reminded of how good the food tastes, you can't help yourself using it all time again. Enjoy your brisket!

The food you made tonight looks really delicious. But I think you are right to add some red peppers. Eggplant is rather bland, so some peppers make the food spicier.

Couldn't help but notice... you have my cutting board. You can keep it. I have another. The food looks great!

lol! thanks!

Another delicious looking food, yummy. You need to win a type of chef award.😁😁 happy weekend.

This dish can be made with the beef also. As I am a vegan, so we can try it with some other alternatives to beef. Is this a great idea?
