Burgers made from 3 different cuts of meat with black garlic mayo, farmer cheddar cheese and caramelized onions. From the green egg. Sunday with friends.

Today my friend Fabio came over to make burgers.

We have been making burgers for a long time and tried many different blends of meat.

Today we settled for a blend of 3 cuts. Rib steak, Flank steak, and fatty short rib.

He brought something special. Black fermented garlic. To put in the homemade mayo.

We also made caramelized onions with whiskey.

And to give the burger a little 'zang?' some sharp farmer cheddar cheese.

The burger was delicious.

First the onions. Cut in rings, fry on low heat till golden brown. Add whiskey to taste. This takes at least 30 minutes

Sauce. Blend the black garlic with oil. Then make a mayo with the oil. The garlic gives an incredible earthy flavor to the mayo that lasts a long time.

Cheese - Grated Farmer Cheddar.

Meat. Cut the meat in cubes. and grind. Add salt to taste. As you can see the short ribs in the back have some nice fat!

To make the burgers I use a press. The burgers are 200 gram each.

Guess it must have smelled great because another person showed up. @eqko. Great! Burgers are enjoyed best with friends and a beer!

We cooked the burgers for 2-3 min on each side and let them rest. While resting we toasted some buns.

The burgers look incredible! Grilling the bun really sets it over the top too.

You knocked it out of the park with the toppings. Caramelized onions have a special place in my heart and the mayo with the fermented garlic sounds really interesting. I never even knew there was such a thing. But I love garlic and the homemade garlic mayo sounds really, really good.

You can't go wrong with fresh sharp cheddar. It really does help put a burger over the top with it's distinct flavor. You had taste bud overload going on today brother. I'm curious to what type of pickle you used? I'm a sucker for bread'n'butter pickles on a burger as I love the unique, sweet taste it adds.

Looks like an amazing day man. Nothing like grilling out with friends, great burgers and a nice cold beverage. Great way to spend a beautiful fall day. Have a great night!

I love days like this man. They are so relaxing.

You ground your own meat...this has been on my list to try doing. How long does it take to do this? I've always bought ground beef at the store and recently learned that grinding meat yourself and mixing meats give more flavor.

Seriously just finished eating 20 minutes ago and now I want a burger. Know what is for dinner tomorrow night.

We had 3500g of meat and it took about 5 minutes to grind. It's really fast. The grinder I have set me back about 50 bucks. Been using it for a couple of years now.

$50 is perfect with the holidays coming up. Never know what to ask for our family xmas gift exchange on my Wife's side. They use a $50 cap and we pick names so each adult gets 1 gift. Will have to look into what is available.

Been working on upping my cooking skills the last couple years and find it very relaxing and rewarding.

If you have a chance let me know what brand your grinder is. Always nice to have a recommendation.

@exyle Gourmet all the Way. It looks like you will have to hit the Gym a little bit harder tomorrow...........Then post a STEEM Article so we can see what is on Monday nights Menu.

Wow man, legendary! I've used nice whiskey to marinate chicken things before, but using em to caramelize some onions is a great idea, never done it. As far as the black fermented garlic I heard about it from a health enthusiast, but have no clue where you would get it (I suppose you'd probably create it yourself!) Anyway, looks like you had a lot of fun and enjoyed some deliciousness. Thanks for sharing your Sunday festivities!

Wow, you have a great and delicious weekend with the company. Add whiskey to the onion, it's very estrovagantno, it will be necessary to try. Thank you @exyle

You should name these posts "Sunday's visual torture with awesome food" :)

Black garlic in the mayo is a great idea man, i'll try that soon.

Burgers are the best food!! They contain all food groups. It there was one food I had to eat for breakfast lunch and dinner it would be the mighty hamburger!!! Endless combinations of condiments, veggies, fruit and meat can be added to a ground meat patty.
That is one fine burger you made there!!

Damnnn! Looks like amazing burgers made with some top-notch ingredients. I just finished my dinner but these photos make me hungry for more.

Those burgers look amazing! I have to try the recipe for your mayo. The end result looks like a whole bunch of flavor in every bite!

Those look amazing. great photos of the whole process too. It looks like you all had a fantastic meal. Cheers.

The burger were great man. And even though I know I would have regretted it afterwards, I now kinda regret I didn't take that third burger. They're so absolutely fantastic. Also, it was great to see you again.

I'm still so full from the two I had. I'm losing my ability to eat propper :/

These burgers look amazingly delicious. The BGE has struck again. The onions look wonderful, but I might try mine with a Canadian rye whisky rather than Scotch. I still don't know how they get the sheep to pee in a bottle...lol

lol! Cheeky, haha. Rye whiskey will no doubt work too!

Oh that all look so good, nothing like good friends and family to share food and spirits with. I haven't been keeping up with your blog lately for their is so much to see here on steemit, glad all is well keep up the good work.
