Cooking Time : 5 Minutes
Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons of Butter
- 2 Tablespoons of Flour
- 1 Cup of milk
- 1 and a half Cups of shredded cheese (6 oz.)
- one quarter teaspoon of salt
- one quarter teaspoon of chili powder
Instructions:
- Heat a sauce pot on the stove and add the butter
- Add the flour and whisk until bubbly then continue to mix for about another 60 seconds
- Turn the heat up slightly then add the Milk into the pot and whisk slowly allowing the milk to simmer.
- Once the mixture simmers it will become thick, once thick enough to coat a spoon, turn heat off.
- Add the shredded cheese to the mixture (one hand full at a time) and mix. Until it's all melted.
- You can turn the heat back on low if this takes to long, make sure not to have it too high.
- Add salt and chili powder and stir through. (You can add more if you want)
Tips:
1. If the sauce gets too thick, add a bit of milk and whisk again.
2. If the sauce becomes too spicy, add some cream or yogurt (sugar also helps) or a Lemon but I wouldn't recommend it for a cheese sauce, but to each his own!
Enjoy!
