I think that we all have some selfish dreams. And for me, that's okay as long as your goal doesn't hurt anyone else. We have the right to be dreamers!
My dream is to live on the road into a bus-house!
Yeah, it's weird I know.
They're three main reasons why I have such a goal:
- To drive into the wild and waking-up each morning with a stunning view!
- Being financially independent (or at least, less dependent). I'm sick of all the things we have to pay to have the right to be alive: Pay taxes, pay your rent, pay your water, pay your bill, pay other taxes, pay your bank... Those never stops! I know, there is a reason why we have to pay, but I'm just not ok with some of them.
- I am quickly bored. Being on the road every week, changing the view every morning... you can't be bored with that!
Such a vehicle cost at least 40.000USD, so it's not for today. But every month I hide some money behind my mattress (1). And maybe someday, I will achieve this dream!
But only hippies live like that!
In fact, no. Each year, more and more people are living their houses/apartments to live far away from the city, travel or just to live a life without anxiety or stress.

But you need to pay for the oil and the food!
Just like living in an apartment. Some have seasonal jobs, some of them full-time workers (thank you mobile-data!), and some are even entrepreneurs! (How to: make money on the road). Look out this typical day of a nomad worker.
###Seems cool, but I can't live without internet!
With all the technologies available and the 4G, this is not an argument anymore. BONUS: You won't need any physical internet connexion soon.

I have seriously considered selling my place, buying a pickup and trailer that I can live in and haul motorcycles and go. SERIOUSLY. I wouldn't have air conditioning in the trailer. When I need to use AC I would move north. When I need heat, I would move south. It's a plan.
I think it's a real viable, wonderful dream. I've known people that have done so for years. Good on you, man.
