I was talking to my husband about this concept, but couldn't quite name it. I kept saying we could easily adapt to individuals, without making it feel "fake" or "forced". Now I understand it might be self monitoring.
To me, the most interesting part in your blog is the last sentence
Being "fake" may in fact be a requirement for being perceived as "good" if "good" is defined as doing the "right thing".
Definitely a thought worth of a bottle of wine.
