Kiran Kanojia, an Infosys employee, is India’s first female blade runner and woman of steel. She lost her leg when two boys who, in an attempt to snatch her bag, pushed her out of the train.

An amputation below the left knee was the only option. The survivor of a horrific accident.

She hails from Uttar Pradesh and was born into a humble background. From studying under street lights to becoming a software engineer for Infosys is no small achievement.

she is a ray of hope and inspiration to all of us. Thanks for bringing her guts and determination into our lives. More power to her and may she shine and impaired many more to shine too.

In spite of defying all odds and achieving fame as India’s first female blade runner, she remains humble and down to earth.

What Kiran once felt was a curse went on to become an inspiration, and made her the first woman blade runner in India during the 6-km Dream Run at the Mumbai Marathon.

Kiran is now a champion blade runner, constantly pushing the limits with marathon after marathon.

Kiran has been felicitated at the NITI Aayog Women Transforming India Awards, along with 11 other strong women from different walks of life.
