If you're a Game of Thrones fan you are familiar with the Iron Throne which is what the entire game revolves around. Everyone wants to sit on it, despite its prickly nature, to rule the Seven Kingdoms in their own right, to make all the decisions and generally be a kingly, or Queenly sort. Countless people have died fighting for it, or because of it, and it seems no one is really any closer to securing it.
I'm not in the fight unfortunately however I think that if I was I would certainly be a solid contender. I wouldn't fight fair, but then, who on Game of Thrones does right? I'd be a good ruler though. No doubt about it. The image above is me sitting on the Iron Throne. It just looks right doesn't it? If I was sitting on the Iron Throne here's a few things I would ban and implement:
Banned
- Hot weather. Any temperatures over 25 degrees celcius would be completely outlawed at pain of death.
- The pouty duck-face look women use in selfies as they generally look better with a simple smile.
- Grunting at the gym. Grunting whilst a person does one rep of way too much weight prior to posing in front of the mirror to see what gains they made would be a thing of the past.
- Asking for upvotes and follows on steemit would be the next thing to go. That shit has to stop!
- Custom vehicle number plates that incorrectly spell a word such as: DMN8 (Dominate) or TUFAZ (Tough as) and MYPNS (I'm not sure what this means but I saw it on a car last week. I think maybe...My penis? BANNED!
- McDonalds (You know why).
There's more...Oh so many more on the banned list, but let's leave it there for now. Let's move on...
Implementations
- Mandatory correct verbal and written usage for the words Your and You're...Yep, there's a difference!
- Cheaper bottled water which is currently at about twice the cost of a litre of fuel for only 600ml bottle.
- Equality of social security payments across the board and only available upon attaining citizenship.
- Mandatory military service for 18 year olds (both genders).
- Maximum length of a television commercial to be 20 seconds and a maximum commercial break length between scheduled programming of 1 minute and only 4 times an hour. (I hate adverts)
- A change in name from the news to media propaganda and drivel for all "news" services on television.
- Implementation of a 3 day weekend (4 day working week).
Ok, so you get the idea. I'm not sure how viable some of my new laws would be however they're more of an 'Iron Throne-ascendency' wish list I suppose.
I wonder what other's would implement or ban should they attain the Iron Throne and indeed if anyone else has actually thought about it? If given the opportunity to rule what would you implement or ban, or would you simply be a puppet figure and be happy to have your strings pulled by corporations and media?
