A Significantly More Clothing Clad Freezing Kat Celebrates A Follower Milestone

We made it home! Home from where some might be asking? For the last few days my family has been lounging on the shores of Laguna Beach, California, celebrating our dear nephew's birthday with a ton of family and friends. Okay, lounging might not be the most accurate word. Based on my current tiredness and soreness levels, I am going to amend my earlier statement, I think "experiencing the shores" might have been a better turn of phrase.

As I was in another state, far, far from my snow covered abode, I didn't get in too many blog posts. Someday I might grow up and take my laptop with me when I travel, so I can be one of the cool kids at Starbucks working on my digi-stuff while sipping a white mocha macchiato, but for the time being I tend to just stick to dealing with my family's stuff, my stuff, and use my phone while traveling. How horrible, I know!

It was as I fired up my laptop this evening that I realized that I had passed a bit of a Steemit milestone, I now have over:

2,000 Followers!!!

Thank you so much to each and everyone of you! It seems only appropriate to cross in the two grand section during a weekend of celebratory fun. It is my hope to continue to at least somewhat entertain you all with my ramblings!

Strangely enough, I am super duper exhausted after my foray into the trendsetting land that is Southern California. My observation meter hit full capacity over the last four days, as did the storage setting on my phone. I took a ton of pictures! I also hung out with a lot of models and relatively Instagram-famous creatures this weekend, so I gleaned a ton of new things to chat with you all about. As anyone who reads this blog knows, a great many things pique my curiosity, and since I am on the downhill side of all out exhaustion, I am going to discuss product name application and consideration in this follower celebratory, pining for the warm season, frozen Kat post.

We flew into LAX Friday morning and were picked up by my nephew's partner. As other friends and family were descending at various times throughout the morning, my family ended up at a local mall as we waited for the others in our group to fly in. We were totally amused with the arrangement, as we are often surrounded by more livestock than people, and this mall was rather, well, ginormous in scope. I totally felt like I represented Idaho well as a small piece of what was formerly frozen horse manure departed my cowboy boot next to one of the many eyebrow threading booths that were infesting the mall's tile floors.

Anyway, while we were perusing all the first world materialistic delights adorning the mall's interior, the children developed a thirst that needed sating. Both of my Polynesians are fruit lovers, and when we walked by these jars of crushed fruit ambrosia, something clicked in the fructose section of their DNA.

It was then that I noticed the name of the establishment:

I'm sorry, but did no one tell the proprietors of the fruit drink establishment that their product name sounded like something a mammal does when they eliminate liquid waste? I need to get a Squiz Up sounds like slang for relieving your bladder on a helpless tree somewhere.

My amusement level was at an all time high as I paid an android girl for the two drinks that I got the kids. (Okay, she wasn't a real android, but I am thinking, based on her lack of overall liveliness that she was close to cyborg).

Aside from the unfortunate branding, the Squiz Up drinks were amazing! They tasted exactly like drinking liquid fruit. My daughter's mango sipper had such a glorious flavor, as I slurped up the tropical slurry through the straw I thought about dropping my purse and performing a bit of a hula right then and there.

However, it was my son's watermelon Squiz Up that was the flavor winner of the day. It was a combination of watermelon with a hint of cucumber. It was a bit of thirst quenching ambrosia of the likes of which I had until that moment never experienced.

So, if you ever see a Squiz Up stand in a mall, don't be dissuaded by the unfortunate choice of branding. For me the drink place kinda did two things for me, it provided a most refreshing beverage to partake of and a glorious bit of infantile giggling courtesy of the place's moniker as an added bonus.
