Two Words: Baby Horse!
Tonight after work we ran over to our friend's house with a few bales of hay for my horse that they are training for me. My dear buddy also made us homemade pizza for dinner, and I have to say that the chicken, spinach, and feta pie that was smoked on their wood chip grill was absolutely an amazing way to end the day. However, there was one thing even better about my evening, and that thing was baby colt kisses!

Little Whiskey Jack is a couple of days old and just the sweetest little guy ever! As you can tell he is totally spoiled already and completely shy around people, and by shy I mean about as antisocial as a social media maven.
The little bundle of legs already has bonded with his boy J, and I got a bunch of giggles out of the foal's antics as he wallowed on the ground next to me. I kid you not, I was actually tickling the little munckin's fetlock and he would thrash around and roll over for more!
Nothing is better than soft baby horse noses, their pokey little whiskers tickling your nose when you get foal kisses. Mama stood by, enjoying the fact that she got a break from the bouncy little horse's antics, and I have to admit that few things in life are much better than pizza and pony night:)

I love how wobbly baby horses are. My sister is a farmer and I like to be around her animals. There is something about being near a large, calm animal that changes your emotional state.

lol, it is amazing how something that is almost all legs can even function! I so agree with you about large animals and the calming sense they exude. Anytime I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with life, a bit of bovine or equine petting therapy does wonders for the mood for sure. I'm glad you have a farm to visit:)

I have never seen such a pretty sight as the baby horse with his young master..so very sweet. Truthfully, I have yet to even touch a colt so young. Spoiled is just fine when it comes to animals. 🐓🐓

That does sound like a most sublime evening. A small horse with legs that look like mine did in the 8th grade, and a wood-stoved pizza. And ANY pie with Feta has my vote of full gastronomically by-gollicious-ness
Such a cute horse. And I can fully relate to the nose thing. That is my favorite part of a horse. A fuzzy rubber plush toy. I had friends with horses when I was younger, and was always quite fascinated with that rubbry end of the equine. I am convinced if you could emulate one of those out of fuzz-colored rubber, and sell them as small, up-turned cup-like desk-top holders for paper clips and such, NOTHING would get done in the world. Ever. Folks would spend their entire day just petting the fake horse-schnozz on the desk. Like the Martian Eye-Popper stress relief thing. (I had a boss that blew his up). Can you say world peace through the horses nose? If you decide to develop those for market, I'd like some credit at least... ( :
That is so cool you have a small horse that loves to act like a dog. Wonder if it will keep that behavior forever? Wouldn't that be fun. Like having your own half-ton rottweiler, rolling about the lawn, "scratch me now, please". Just as long as it doesn't decide to do it with you perched atop..."Not NOW, Whisky Jack, I'm up here". Or will it still be 'Little Whisky Jack'? Is the name 'little' right now, at just this age, from being small, or is there a BIG Whisky Jack too? I should know this, being a b'Kat fan, but remembering what I had for breakfast yesterday is a chore in itself, horses names from across the state and a half, good luck...

You would have loved the gastronomic delights that we created yesterday in the wood fired pizza oven! My favorite was a pizza that we put olive oil and garlic on the dough, sprinkled it with blue cheese and mozzarella, baked it in the oven, and then layered proscuitto on the top right as it emerged from the oven. It was AMAZING!
Muzzle pencil holders for one's desk sounds smashing! You have all the bestest ideas, I wouldn't get any work done.... Heh.
You know, I can't remember three and a half seconds ago, let alone relevant and important details from my friend's blog posts. There is no big Whiskey Jack, but I do own his older brother, my Kula horse, which is probably what you were referring to, and I am quite frankly amazed that you inkled that out! Dang dd. I am thinking that little Whiskey Jack will stay quirky as my horse is more than a bit of a goof. He does fun things like turn field fencing into hammocks and packs weed block barrier around, so I don't think it is much of a stretch to think that the newest creature will lose all of his strange and adorable little quirks.
My friend, I would love to write more than a Steinbeck novel of words and stuff to you, however, I am so, so fatigued. We had a Pokemon party at the library today and found myself dealing with a hundred little Pikachu wannabes. The tired is real, and I still have to cook dinner for the troops. My fourth day was more peachy that a bottle of cheap Schnapps, and I hope yours was more oaty that a bowl of breakfast cereal!!
