Promo Flyers I've created over the years for various EDM events.

Greetings Steemit,

From 2009(ish) till the clubs closing 12/31/2012 - I helped operate a Saturday night weekly EDM event in my hometown known as "Fresh Mode". (The stories of which could fill many posts.. but that is for another time) I've also operated a few self run events, mostly park parties, since then - and will include some of that relevant content in this post as well.

With help from my favorite Wookie and pickle savant @swedishcalypso - we were responsible for booking talent, providing & operating sound equipment, performing ourselves most weekends, as well as designing flyer & promotion art.

Attached in this post is some of that aforementioned flyer & promo art that I designed - mostly by adding text or layering a few free use images found on google. I had to knock out one of these every weekend for 3 years - and they all had to be original & tell a different story.

The trick here is that every weekend hosted a different act - so every weekend's event flyer had to be unique as well as representative of the performer. Some of these have stories behind them.. others were left to my own creation.

There is also the challenge of listing all pertinent information the Artist wants listed, such as: name, style, genre, affiliations, websites, etc. Some of these flyers took HOURS to get just the font/text listings placed correctly.

You'll also catch a few Steemians listed here - as we hosted many locally based talent that later joined our Steemit community.. so be on the lookout for flyers listing: @sykochica , @winstonwolfe, @echozaurora , @sssence, @fenomenon7 .

I try to tell a little story with each piece - as to the type of show it was used for or who the artist was that played. Some of the earlier works are def less skilled than my later pieces. Presented in no specific order, just random pulls from my Imgur account. So it goes.

Social Media Artwork

Poster Artwork on the Walls of the venue

Poster Artwork in the Windows - placed 'Side by Side' in the front window of the venue

St. Patty's Day Pubcrawl Event

DJ Spiral = @WinstonWolfe & This Guy That Guy (TGTG) = @sweedishcalypso & @giftedgaia

@echozaurora show (that top hat is kinda her thing)

TGTG Show ( @sweedishcalypso & @giftedgaia )

All Vinyl Show night

Outdoor Park Party

Mash up Mayhem night (Hence Kokopelli)

4x4 House Music night

Multi-genre out of towers

In your Face Drum n Bass

All three Konkrete Jungle Springfield DJs - including @fenomenon7

The Dichotomy of: Funky House vs Drum and Bass

My friend Casey said "I just want something simple on the the flyer, nothing crazy!"... ok dude

A technician on the decks = Chris Close

Flyer for two kick ass out of town DJs who love graffiti artwork

Flyer for the classiest DJ I know, Mr. @essence (Hence the 'Mad Men' theme)

Another Example where I had a Dirty Glitch Hop DJ playing, so I went 'Classy Wedding Style' with the flyer art

That night a Pirate Headlined the show

My friend doing a Live PA set with lots of buttons - hence the brain power flyer

A pair of Super Groovey House DJs

One of the times @swedishcalypso & I were able to get @sykochica to join us on drums.. cuz, ya know.. She's at least 1/2 Muppet.

Super Funky Live PA Guy

Another TGTG show ( @swedishcalypso & myself).. cuz us playing sounds like the music of Angels

Promo Post for a Park Party

Trance DJ headliner = sounds like Robots singing love songs

Two Dark EDM DJs (one of my favorites)

2 Turntablists playing on 4 decks that night

More TGTG performances (We played often)

Pretty heavy lineup so I went purple & pink color scheme to throw you off

Day Time Park Party (Fayetteville Invades Springfield) & also a Fresh Mode that night = Basically 2 show flyers in 1. This piece is just a zoomed in Google Map view of the 143 mile journey, and though very simple in design, it took FOREVER to get all the text added & spaced where I liked it.

Yet some more TGTG performances - we have this thing about NOT red lining.. so that's the joke here.

Random flyer listing both @winstonwolfe & @swedishcalypso - I like this one.

Halloween Pubcrawl Event.

Christmas Event - Merry Fresh Mode with @fenomenon7

Tag Team Night - again listing @winstonwolfe , @swedishcalypso , and myself @giftedgaia - in the theme of an early 1990's video game start screen

Another Halloween Pubcrawl Event - the 'No Tricks, All Treats' phrase was a jab at other promoters in the area at the time who were throwing whack shows - and though smaller in operation (by our intention) we always felt like we held the standard of being 'the professionals' at what we did in our scene

NYE event with an International Headliner - I thought the World may be ending, hence the flyer design

Local Friend DJ Malkontent

Funky House Music All Night event

Three Zen Mutha'Funkas I know - hence the theme

Friends from out of town event

Local Swing House guy DJ Sketch (Play button going off like a bomb cuz he uses a Midi controller)

Another @echozaurora Show (early flyer)

Some unrelated Artwork I did for a Business Networking Group - they were having a 1930's circus themed charity event and needed a promo flyer

And unbeknownst to us at the time - THIS is the final Fresh Mode flyer - featuring @sykochica , @swedishcalypso , and myself @giftedgaia

Hope You enjoyed the show Friends!

Cheers Steemit!
