We are very blessed to have beautiful local woods to walk in. This is the Monkey Puzzle walk made up of an avenue of 40m high Araucaria araucana trees which are native to Chile and Argentina. 3-4 times a year the local community organise a volunteering session to maintain and clear the undergrowth and pathways.

This keeps them open and creates small glades to allow light in to encourage grass and small flowers.

It is really nice to be able to give something back and satisfying to see the results of your hard work when you next walk in these precious environments.
Of course it's not all work and no play - amazing what games you can come up with using a couple of wooden rakes!
