Don't waste your precious time on something useful

There are two kinds of people who like to say "take your time.".

One is the person who has no number in his heart. When he sees that people around him are making rapid progress, he will comfort himself and take his time. Don't worry, step by step. In fact, he has no foresight at all and doesn't know what to do. Rather than step by step, he can only step by step and see what he thinks.

The other is people who know their goals and paths, have their own pace and speed, and run wholeheartedly towards their destination. Because I know the meaning of what I'm doing, I won't be influenced by the people around me.

Of course, the second kind of people are a small number of smart people. The first kind of people are "pseudo down-to-earth people".

Sureness is a good quality, but sometimes the praise we give it hides the problem itself. Under this kind of thinking, many people have done many useless things steadfastly.

Not everything is the most worthwhile thing to do right now.

There is a rule in product quality management called "important minority rule".

This rule was put forward by Joseph Juran, an expert in quality management. His name is a little long. Let's call him Juran.

Zhu LAN believes that most of the problems of poor quality can be attributed to the important minority, and the rest of the small defects are caused by the unimportant majority.

So when we deal with quality problems, we should deal with the important minority first.

He used a lot of statistical analysis to prove that when quality problems occur, 20% of the problems are caused by the mistakes of grass-roots operators, but 80% of the problems are caused by leaders; and 80% of the leadership problems are caused by 20% of the important links, which is the "28 principle" in quality management.

This principle has had an important impact on my life.

Every time you start to do something new, you will experience a process of gradual improvement.

At the beginning, people were always full of holes.

If you think a thing is worth doing as long as it is useful, whether it can improve the quality of life or work efficiency, you will easily fall into the swamp of effort.

No matter how you put in, you can't get what you want.

Useful is not worth it.

No matter how wrong things are, human beings can think out the meaning from them. But if we didn't make such a wrong choice, we could have gained more.

So whether it's worth it or not, we should take the opportunity cost into account.

Why is there always a difference between your efforts and those of others?

Because everything has its important 20%, the 28 principle tells us that 80% of the results are produced by 20% of the efforts.

If we can grasp the key links, we can gain more returns with less investment.

This is not to teach you how to be opportunistic, we are just pursuing effectiveness.

People's concentration, time and energy are limited, which I will mention repeatedly in this book until it becomes something that every cell in your body remembers. Therefore, we must choose a moderate, more focused way of effort, to pursue higher efficiency, the pursuit of hard work.

If you do things with this way of thinking, you can eliminate those unimportant things, or even many unnecessary things.

*Ask yourself:

What are the problems that make you dissatisfied with your life?

Which of them are the main problems you think?

Can the solution of these problems promote the solution of other problems?*

Through self questioning and self answering, identify the key parts, and then invest in these 20% of the fields to achieve 80% of the harvest.

If I only do three things, which three should I do?

What if we only do one thing?

Is this useful in promoting the solution of other problems?

We have been dealing with problems all our life. When a lot of problems come to you, you must identify the key problems; when a lot of things need to be done, you must determine what is the most important thing.

People with this kind of thinking can win faster.
