Yesterday at the park with my boys, we stopped for a snack. One inquisitive seagull came down to see if he could chance his luck with some crumbs...

My eldest was blown away by the fact that the bird came so close to him.

He enjoyed throwing more crumbs and this opened up a great dialogue about how birds fly and what they eat.

I think the seagull was having just as much fun as my son. So much so he came and invited his friends.

This was such a valuable experience in that it taught my son kindness and sharing. At home we are focussing on treating all living beings with respect, this was a perfect opportunity to put that into play.
