Today I watch Shonda Rimes talk on TED "My year of saying yes to everything". Shonda Rimes is author and producer of - at least - 4 of the most famous and successful worldwide broadcasted TV-shows. She defines herself as a titan. Of media, work, and achievement.
Yet her life is not one we should really dream about. Between a well-structured american scenario which don't hesitate to remind us (ever and ever) her social success and an appropriate amount of emotion and self-questioning (guess she is not famous for nothing), Shonda Rimes helps us to gain back some common sense about what really matters in life.
Not sure the message I catch is the one she wanted to spread but I found it pretty encouraging. Her commercial titled talk - I guess from the inspiring movie "Yes, man" with Jim Carrey - actually urges us to reconsider balance in our lives, time flying ; refocus on the need not to trap ourselves in our lives but to broaden our sight, step back and revitalise ourselves, and - unwinttingly I guess - to keep in perspective people we do admire.
Maybe we should just enjoy each moment we have without all this hum she looks desperate to experience. Maybe we should learn how to live in silence and peace instead of trying to get ourselves being catch permanently in a bubbling life which take us away from our real us. Maybe we should just fulfill our dreams instead of fantasizing on the dreams with assume others are living.
