OUR SEXUALITY : ECHOES FROM THE DARK

Our sexuality although, an inseparable part of us, must be carefully managed so it doesn't bring harm, disrepute, disregard, hurt, offense, to those around our lives. Most people would quickly quote certain human right laws, that allows them unlimited access to exploring their sexual lives. But truth must be told.

If your rights infringes on the right of another, it ceases to be a right but a criminal offense.

This afternoon, I went to slot in Enugu to fix my phone with my friend, the engineer asked us to wait for a while, we decided to cross over to the other side of the road to eat, after wandering around for minutes, we found a small place and settled there for food. The inside was a bit crowdy so we decided to sit outside since we spotted just one guy sitting outside with some empty bottles of beer on his table. We ordered for egusi soup with small bitter leaf soup on top, we finished everything and decided to chill for few minutes before we leave.

This guy was sitting adjacent to us, I noticed that he was moving to and fro on the chair, he stood up and stepped outside to survey the open area in front of us and it was boldly written on the wall there "please do not urinate here". He came back and now sat directly opposite us and was still moving on the chair. I tapped my friend who was sitting next to me, buried in her phone, I told her, "this guy don enter one chance, he finished all those bottles of beer and now he's looking for where to piss, mehn, life will always find a way of being hard", I was quietly laughing at him.

When we looked at him again, he was boldly looking at us, he unzipped his trousers, brought out his penis with his hands, still looking at us, he began to move his hands over his penis, da! fear catch us o, we looked around, only the waitress was sitting outside but at the extreme and she wasn't looking our direction, other people outside were far from us. He brought out handkerchief and spread it over his exposed penis and was still looking at us to rub his hands over it and was looking at us as if he knows us from somewhere. I wanted to watch the show to the end, but my friend became uncomfortable and irritated, so we stood up and left the place.

I have read about sexual deviation, I have even encountered pedophiles which I think is worst and barbaric, but this one is another brand of disgrace just to get pleasure. I had a mixed feeling of shame and pity, I couldn't believe it was that real. Although some people want the society to see such acts as normal, the truth remains that it can only be normal if the other party has consented to it. I think these kind of people need help and I really want to know the best therapy for these people, leave sex toy out of this, that one is another special kind of problem on its own.

Lots of people the world over are facing sexual molestation and abuse on a daily basis, sometimes without response from the appropriate authorities, our ability to put our sexuality under watch is our greatest strengths as women, men and generally humans.
