Sayyidul Istighfar

Assalamualaikum

Sahih al-Bukhori: 5848

عن شداد بن أوس, عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:

سيد الاستغفار: اللهم أنت ربي لا إله إلا أنت خلقتني وأنا عبدك, وأنا على عهدك ووعدك ما استطعت, أبوء لك بنعمتك علي وأبوء لك بذنبي فاغفر لي, فإنه لا يغفر الذنوب إلا أنت, أعوذ بك من شر ما صنعت. إذا قال حين يمسي فمات, دخل الجنة أو كان من أهل الجنة, وإذا قال حين يصبح, فمات من يومه مثله.

From Shaddad ibn Aus, from the Holy Prophet, he said:

Sayyidul istighfar: O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant. I keep Your covenant and Your promise according to my abilities. I confess to You for Your blessings for me and I confess my sins to You, forgive me, for no one can forgive sins other than You, and I plead for protection from evil what ever I do. If he reads it in the evening then dies, then he will go to heaven, or will be a dweller of heaven. And if he read it in the morning then died on the day, then like it (he will go to heaven).

Message:
The virtue of the reading of sayyidul istighfar, if read in the afternoon and he dies night, then he will go to heaven. If it is read in the morning and he dies that day he will go to heaven too.
