How To Make Vegan Burritos With Jackfruit!

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

Have you ever bought a whole jackfruit and cut it up? They are HUGE! I’ve been considering investing in one though and freezing the leftovers to use a meat replacement. I went to an Indian restaurant (right across from NASA in Texas) for Valentines Day last year and they had a vegetarian 5 course special. One of the plates- had this “meat” that tasted and was seasoned just like duck would be (haven’t eaten meat in 10+ years!). I even called the waiter and double checked- It was Jackfruit! I told them they did a really good job! I was fooled and I have been eating “meat” upgrades for years.

Thank you for the inspiration! Curious about the drinks... :)

i've avoided that actually lol. i dont know how good they are to use when they are ripe, it will be extremely sweet! young jackfruit is the way to go because its flavorless. Ahh yes those asian spots do such a great job at replicating meat! they have so much flavor they are some of my favorite spots to visit :) thanks for popping by and reading!

Good to know! Sweetness factor. Thank you for taking the time to reply! :)
