She's walking on ice! - @island-girl Photo & video

I've not been on the ice rink for quite a long while so it was really fun to be walking on the ice again! =) Ice skating is not very common activity in my country not only because we don't have winter season here but also there are only few cities that has an ice rink facility.

I remember myself stepping on the ice for the first time when the first ice rink here in Cebu has opened about couple of years ago at SM Seaside. That moment I felt my knees were shaking a bit, the skate shoes felt so weirdly heavy that I could hardly stand - I was like a baby learning her first steps =)

The challenge in ice skating is real but for sure I will become better when I do it more often. As they say practice makes perfect. "What was stopping me from being good , was my fear to fall and get hurt". I had fell a countless times and I learned that it isn't really as bad as I thought. The fear was just all in my mind and each time I fall, it gives me more courage to stand again and keep on trying, until finally I managed myself to walk on the ice and enjoy the moment. I must work more in keeping my balance, so I will learn how to glide properly without falling. I easily get distracted each time I focus on what my feet was doing. I'm hoping to do better next time =) Well I could get a trainer if I wanted to but I prefer to learn on my own. I consider learning from myself as an achievement. So, wish me luck!

Here, I'm also sharing a video of me from yesterday at the ice rink. Thanks to my sister for taking the video =). Not much people on the ice rink yesterday, just me, my sister and a couple of kids who obviously skate so good!
