A storm is a form of challenge a person goes through. It's a vital phase of growth in one's life. A storm doesn't come to destroy you but to build your character and strength.
In 2012, I was out of job, I decided to pursue a career in makeup. While I was in training my husband and I decided to have our second child. When I was five months pregnant my husband suddenly lost his job. It was a big storm for us but at the same time it built my muscles and I learnt certain things during that season of my life.
The number one thing I learnt was divine provision. My plan was to have my second baby where I had my first but since situation had changed I registered at a military hospital which was cheaper. However the doctor who delivered my first child gave me a call and asked what was happening as he had not seen me in the hospital for a while, I explained the situation and guess what, he asked me to continue with my ante natal and pay the exact amount the military hospital charged me. I eventually had my second baby in the same hospital I had my first, we even paid less than we did with our first child.
I also learnt how to be more compassionate towards people. When people confide in me I listen more than I speak so as to understand what is going on their heart. Most times I am able to relate to certain situations some people find themselves in because I have been through it too.
In the end look at the storm in a positive light, there is always something to gain, lessons to learn and a purpose to be accomplished.
