Assault Weapons From Vending Machines?
First, just imagine it. You're back in high school, hanging out in the hallway. You walk over to the snack machines and glance over the items. You flatten out your dollars, feed the machine, and press D-5, A-15, & J-9.
As requested, the machine drops you some Mini Oreos, a Gatorade, and a fully-automatic AK-47.
For the excited freedom lovers (or terrified cops) reading this, I'll answer your question straight away: Your nearest high school probably won't soon have gun dispensing machines - but your living room can.
Yes, we have reached that level of easy arming. Through the wondrous magic of technological innovation, anybody with a cheap 3D printer can print out Defense Distributed's The Liberator, a working handgun, from home, at the press of a button. The digital files needed to print the single-shot pistol are available for download all over the Darknet.
With just a bit more printing time and a quick trip to the Home Depot for a few metal parts, you can put together The Shuty, a semi-automatic 9mm pistol capable of repeated fire and reloading. It's bulky, but it's a nine.
With a slightly more expensive 3d printer capable of working metal, you can print out a semi-automatic 1911-platform 10mm pistol called The Reason.
As a child, I used to keep a slightly different 1911 platform handgun (not 3D printed) as my daily carry, until the feds decided to do an armed home invasion (they prefer to call it a "raid"), and stole it. Before that, it never once failed to protect me. I highly recommend the 1911. It is reliable in every way you need your handgun to be, and now you can make one yourself.
With Cody Wilson's simple CNC milling machine, appropriately named the Ghost Gunner, you can essentially print out a fully functioning AR-15 lower receiver (the supposedly regulated part) from home. The other parts to the rifle can either be made from home or purchased online the same way you'd purchase a desk lamp. With no technical skills and very little free-time, you can manufacture a nearly military-grade rifle from the comfort of your bedroom. Over and over again. No registration, no waiting periods, no serial numbers, no background checks, no bullshit.
Added bonus: If you don't want to have to pull the trigger again and again for every individual shot, just add a simple drop-in auto sear and automatic bolt carrier to your new AR-15, and you've basically just turned it into a fully automatic M-16; the standard issue assault rifle of the U.S. Army. If you'd rather keep it technically legal, swapping out your standard stock for a bump-fire slide stock allows you to simulate automatic fire without the risk of federal time.
So what's the point?
The true kicker behind these things is that they are 100% government-proof. You cannot legislate technology out of existence, especially something that everybody is excited about. 3D printers and CNC milling machines are here to stay. Even if they ban the files needed to print out the guns, we have encryption, p2p sharing, and the darknet to ensure those files remain available to the public. Of course, it goes without saying that nobody has any right to tell you what to own - especially in regards to self-defense. Nobody can justly decide what you can and cannot sell. It doesn't matter if they have majority support, the majority is not in charge of you. You are in charge of you. 3D printed guns will allow us to defend this right to autonomy and self-sovereignty.
Pragmatically speaking, anybody that has ever been to the hood can observe that gun laws are ineffective in a violent society. Hell, they can't even keep guns out of prisons. Gang members don't go through waiting periods. Criminals and homicidal maniacs have no reason to obey regulations. Only the law-abiding sheep that base their behavior around the decrees of politicians are ever inhibited by gun restrictions. As a result, you wind up with a society in which the aggressors - the criminals and cops - are armed, and the peaceful people are defenseless. This dynamic publicly manifested itself most recently as a heart-wrenching tragedy in Orlando, in which one lunatic with one rifle shot over 100 innocent people, in a place they were not legally allowed to be armed. Had it not been for the state disarming the law-abiding people within the Pulse nightclub, somebody could have stopped that monster before he was able to claim quite so many innocent lives.
Carry a handgun in Baltimore, Detroit, D.C., Oakland, or almost any other crime-infested cesspool controlled by a totalitarian gun-grabbing regime of collectivist jizzstains. You'll have a very hard time doing it without either breaking the "law" or putting on one of those magical shiny badges and blue costumes, which grant extra special powers that normal mortals don't get to have.
Now, with this new technology that enables anybody to manufacture an arsenal from home, you don't have to take your chances dealing with criminals, and you don't have to subject yourself to the whims of the state, in order to defend yourself. This technology will pave the way for mainstreamed safety in the hands of every individual. It's now that much easier for regular people to emancipate and defend themselves from criminals and police officers.
What does this mean for our society?
In a word, freedom. It means soon it will be impossible to oppress us. You cannot control a freely armed society that doesn't see you as a legitimate authority. Due to the increasingly fast spread of information, fewer and fewer people hallucinate government to be anything other than the sociopathic gang of aggressive thugs that it is; monopolizing our most essential industries (infrastructure, security, arbitration, etc) and robbing us all to fund it.
By gaining the ability to arm our society with ease, we can defend ourselves from the state. 318 million Americans with access to AR-15s and drones, against the same military of less than 2 million that couldn't even gain control of Iraq or Vietnam, is a fight the state doesn't want to pick.
Thankfully, we don't need to fight the military to escape from under the boot of government. By gaining the ability to commence in trade and commerce without giving the state any portion of the money, by way of Bitcoin, we can deprive the state of its life-blood - its funding. Unrestricted access to quality weaponry will protect and preserve our ability to stop funding and empowering the state.
In the long term, technology will mean the end of government. At that point, we very well could be seeing assault weapons sold publicly and openly from vending machines, in an equalized society based on voluntary associations between consenting individuals, rather than coercive force at the hands of a political elite.
Writer's note:
I encourage you to look into and invest in the technology I've described above. Please, buy yourself the machinery to print out guns from home, and start printing out guns from home. Give yourself and your community the edge to defend yourselves from criminals and police. Below are some links to get you started.

Hey Jake, I can put you on the whitelist if you are planning on cross-posting material to both steemit and other places. This means new content, not old posts, however.
In addition, both posts should link to each other; I noticed that your post here doesn't seem to indicate where it was originally posted.

Yes, please whitelist me, I appreciate that. I can start posting consistently new content and linking multiple posts of the same thing. I didn't realize I'm not supposed to re-post previous articles of mine from other sites.

Hi Anyx, can you make the Cheetah look at posts with Images as well? I made a Sci-Fi Graphic novel: http://bit.ly/2bntC9E , but I am afraid bots are not able to pick up on it. Would be great to have your thoughts on this.

If you look at the link to the Odyssey article, you'll see that it is me that wrote it. If you look at any of my articles on here, you'll see that I'm clearly the same guy. I introduced myself in From Gang Life To Voluntaryism.

Hey James, I did not know how to reach to you, so really sorry for breaking this conversation and spamming like this. I wanted to know more about Image based Blogs and creative authors verification. I made a Sci-Fi Graphic Novel: http://bit.ly/2bntC9E and spent over a month producing it. I really need to publish it and promote it at maximum places, but I am doing exclusive with Steem at the moment to promote the platform as well. I am not sure if Cheetah or others bots can handle image based blogs as well, I can then share it on Reddit/Medium as well with Cross promotion for my later series. Do have a look and share your thoughts on this original content strategy :)
Cheers

There's also just plain hand craftsmanship, which is how they make modern military weapons in Darra Adam Khel, Pakistan. But that takes considerably more training and experience than a 3D printer. The Reason, Ghost Gunner, and 80 percent AR frames also depend on the fact that only the firearm receiver is regulated by federal law, allowing you to get all the other parts of the gun by mail order.
The big problem, though, is ammunition. Black powder is pretty easy to make yourself, but modern smokeless powders require considerably more sophisticated chemistry. Lead bullets are easy to make yourself, and there are plenty of molds available. But modern copper-cased bullets are more difficult. Extruding brass cases is also more than most of us are up to. And primers are the hardest.
Still, it's good to see home-made guns getting easier to make all the time.

It's fascinating to me that such (relatively) simple machines are still so important politically. The prospect of more advanced tech now democratising their distribution is really encouraging to me.

A great post!
I am and have been well aware of the corrupt mob/mafia that has somehow tricked people into believe they have some sort of justified authority under color of law.
I was unfortunately raided by a $350,000 BLACK OPS SWAT OPERATION, black helicopters and all based on a bogus warrant with NO FACTS at all. They then stole a bunch of stuff after holding us at gunpoint for 10 hours.
It is crazy that there are still so many that believe more gun control laws will help. As anyone with a brain knows this to be the opposite. Just goes to show how many dumb statists exist in this country. Zombies are very real.
You can check out my interview with Ron Paul if you have any interest in my story.
