FORGIVING A SIGNIFICANT OTHER.

Do not rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father, younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, younger women as sisters, with all purity.
I Timothy 5:1‭-‬2 NKJV

Offenses come from all quarters and sometimes it is the significant others who cause us harm and pain. Many times people choose to ignore the issue either because they are older than us or they are too harsh to approach so we hope that one day they will pay for the offense. As long as the matter is not dealt with then it is still a wound and that means we are hurting and haven't forgiven.
In certain instances the offended have found themselves in a second confrontation with the offender as they tried to deal with the first offense.

Paul advices Timothy on how to approach the significant others in our lives. It is advisable to appeal to them and not get confrontational. In appealing it means you approach them in an inquisitive manner seeking to bring them to a point of seeing the offense they carried out. Time never heals the wound, dealing with the issue does heal the wound.
My prayer this day is that may the Lord help us to forgive the significant others in our lives without confrontation and without pretending that time will heal the wound.
