Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there! 

You definitely deserve to be recognized for all the work you do year round. One day is hardly enough, but at least it is something. 

Over the years my family and I have have always found different things to do on Mother's Day, things that mom would like to do of course. 

However, sometimes it can get quite expensive when we have the whole family together going out to do something.

  

That is where Groupon comes in...

If you have not heard, Groupon is a coupon based website where consumers can buy deals on things to do, places to eat, and even products to buy. The deals are usually very good.

For example, most deals tend to be 50% off or more. 

We have used them on golf courses, restaurants, spas, and even bought some pretty cool things at great prices.

This mother's day we really took advantage of our Groupon purchases. 

For lunch, we took our mom to her favorite restaurant. A little hole-in-the-wall Italian Restaurant. The pizza is amazing here but the wings are really probably the best wings I have ever had, anywhere. Not an exaggeration.

Between the 6 of us, we got 2 Large Pizzas and 30 wings. It doesn't sound like a lot of food, but the slices are huge, and surprisingly that was all we needed for the 6 of us. Everyone also got a drink.

The original bill came to $80. Not overly pricey for 6 people, but also not cheap either. However, with our Groupon, we were able to drop the price all the way to $40. Pretty awesome eh?!

The fun's not over yet!

Next, we went to a place that was more for the younger kids than it was for mom, but she still participated as well. 

It was a place called Wazee's World. It is a big arcade with lots of games, that also has laser tag, cosmic miniature golf, food, and a massive bounce house play area. 

We were able to get 2 games of laser tag, 1 round of miniature golf, 1 large pizza and drink, and 20 tokens for $20... We purchased a couple of these so that everyone would have one.  

It provided us great fun for hours and at a decent price. (We celebrated Mother's Day yesterday because we are traveling back home today)

It was great seeing my mom out there playing laser tag. I will never forget seeing her laughing in the corner as little kids were ganging up on her, realizing she was an easy target. 

Luckily her son stepped in to save the day. ;)

So, basically when it was all said and done, we spent the whole day out and about doing fun and exciting things at roughly 50% of the normal price.

We even threw in a special "Spa Day" coupon that she can use anytime in the next 3 months just for her. We got roughly 80% off the original price and that made it possible for us to afford these great gifts for mom.
