And now, I'm starting to think, and also feel guilty, if I, in some way, directly or indirectly, have caused someone to lose or lessen his/her self-esteem.
If ever I became one, I'm sorry, dear friends.
Sure, we've all been there - We have felt that feeling of trying everything but you still feel like a loser; that feeling of being alone; that feeling of "It's me against the world"; that feeling of being so vulnerable to the point of breaking down to life once that teeny tiny hope you are holding on is also gone.
We've been there, and so we should know.
But I don't know why sometimes it becomes hard for us (or maybe we just forget or neglect, or just become passive) to say positive things or say things positively to other people so that we can help them uplift their feelings.
Sometimes, that teeny tiny hope is the only thing that they've got.
And so let us not be the reason for them to lose it...completely. Instead, let us be a way for them to restore their confidence; to become hopeful; and to work for what's best (thanks to people who have been my source of confidence; parents, close friends, pseudo nanay and tatay).
We all come to a point in life where it could only take one person, to say the right words, for us to redeem our motivation to live. Let us be that person.
As what Blaise Pascal said, "Kind words do not cost much, yet they accomplish much". Sometimes, we will not completely understand unless we find ourselves in the same situation.
So true. There are times when you have been there at the lowest point in your life. With thoughts that it would not get any lower but it does. Sometimes positive words comes from people that you least expect and sparks that ember of hope.
