Culture: A penitentiary

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

Whether practical or not, pre-packaged principles brought culture are held by forces which are very rooted. The risk of fighting them can lead to "isolation", which is also defined by the same culture.

Culture is a penitentiary.

It's guards are usually the generation responsible for our upbringing. That is the reason why there has always been varying degrees of moral tension between one generation and its preceding generation(s).

Culture aims to keep you locked into a way of thinking that is aligned with the group that you "belong to". Please note that belonging to a culture seems consensual but is actually softly imposed.

Which culture allows you to question its core principles ? I do not see any, even in the "free world".

Culture is a penitentiary.

It is time we make an effort to see things as they are, not as we want them to be. Then only, true freedom begins.
