🌸🏵A quiet day in the garden potting a new bush but a fantastic surprise was waiting for me. 🥬🌶

I haven't had the energy today to do much as by myself with the pups, i decided to take it easy and just do what i could be bothered to do. I bought a new bush (Red Hydrangea) yesterday, this is for the back garden, hopefully once i get it decked out. I have asked a man to come tomorrow morning to give me a quote for the garden to be decked.

I have a pot already filled with compost ready for this. I already have 2 Peony bushes, Pink & White The Red Hydrangea will look lovely sitting in between the Peony Bushes. I also have a couple of green bushes that will sit out there adding more colour.

I transferred the Hyndrangea into its new home and gave it a good watering, Our pup Luna loves to have a smell of he plants especially my new ones.

I will leave my new bush sitting in my side garden until i know its took OK and hopefully my garden will get done asap, as long as my gardener gives me a good price.

Whilst i was out there i thought i would check on the 1st Vegetables i planted a month ago Radish. I had noticed a few days ago that one was popping through the soil, Today i pulled the Radish, I couldn't wait any longer to see if they were growing OK.

Once i pulled the Radish I realised i should have broken the egg shell i had put the seeds into as it hadn't broken when in the pot. I was surprised how good it looked, i cleaned it up as i had to have a taste. I love Radishes but they don't like me, they give me indigestion, i hoped i could grow my own to add to my salads.

I am really chuffed with myself as they tasted delicious, i had hoped they wouldn't bother me, thankfully i only ate the 2 as anymore would have as i started to feel that burning feeling at the back of my throat. I am still going to have a few but slice them very thinly, i will give most of them away.
I am a very happy gardener today, my 1st ever homegrown Vegetable. Feeling very proud of myself.

Thank you @son-of-satire

I love seeing your gardening updates, and glad to hear you took it a little easy today

I like it when things are going right. :)

Dont we all :)

Have a look back, I think I suggested that you crush the shell before planting.
By crushing the shells, it will allow the roots of the plant to escape, and give a lot more surface area for the moisture to begin composting the shells into goodies for the plants.

You did but i forgot lol thankfully i only planted a couple without breaking the shell. The others should be OK :)

Old age is setting in. I thought I had mentioned it

I know that feeling hun :)

You should be proud, good going :-)

Thank you :)

Oh wow the Radish turned out great congrts @karenb54 I'm surprised the egg shell was still intact.

Thank you very much 😊
