How Do You Feel about 4- Star Products On Amazon?steemCreated with Sketch.

I'm going to talk about something I haven't voiced out loud.
Something has been bothering me.
I'm ashamed of myself.

I've been publishing coloring books on Amazon for quite some time now. Most of them only have four out five stars.
I tried my best, but I don't have very much experience with digital art. and Competition has been fierce. I have slowed down on the publishing to heavily practice and learn about digital art.

I'm just curious, Is four out five stars considered really bad? I know everyone gets the occasional bad review. When you browse websites are you likely to buy a 4-star item?

My future coloring books will be dramatically improved. I feel like I'm starting to understand what my colorists want out of a book. I even purchased tons of my competitions coloring books, Studying the lines, Themes, and Style so I can improve.

Should I change my name?

I've been wondering if I should change my name on Amazon. We can have a variety of pen names. Should I separate from my past books, or stay connected to them? My concern is some of the people who hated my past books will run and hide when they see my new stuff.

What is everyone's thoughts on this? What kind of products do you buy? Do the reviews matter?

Here is some of my newer stuff, that I'm more excited about. Feel free to critique it :)

4 out of 5 stars is totally fine; I would say two things about the matter. First if I see a 4 and a 5 star product, then I'm naturally drawn to the 5 but won't rule out the 4.

I make my decisions by reading the 2 and 3 star reviews, that's where you will find common complaints (if any), and I'll base my decision on those.

I am naturally suspicious of products with 100% ratings...

Cg

The drawings are pretty :)
4 stars ratings are okay to me; I'm an occasional buyer on Amazon and I did buy a couple of 4 star rated products - I will add that the explanatory comments count a lot. (I bought clothes for my daughter and I wanted to see if the sizes fit, fabric quality and other details).
As far as your name is concerned - if you feel it drags you down, then change it. Don't jinx your sales with bad vibes about your current user name :)
Good luck!

I have bought many 4 star things. I usually read the bad reviews to see what they are, because a lot of people are idiots and just write bad reviews to complain about stupid stuff - like, "my ______ didn't come with batteries, so I gave it a 1 star."

True :( I see those reviews all the time. Thats why when I review, I give them an extra star. To make up for those people who are leaving bad ones. So if it's a 1 star product. I give it 2 stars haha.

Hey, that's a good idea! Haha

4 out of 5 stars is good, 4 stars wouldn't stop me from buying something if I like it.

Thats good to hear! I am improving. But so far most of them have been 4 star haha.

As long as it is at least 4 stars I will buy it.

Thank you! I feel better about it now! I'm hoping my next book will get at least 4.5 or 5 :)

4 is really good. Don't put yourself down :)

Thank you : )I'm feeling much better about it now.

That's good :)

4 is fine, I am quite the Amazon buyer and I think nothing of buying something with 4 stars!

I'm so glad! I'm so thankful I shared this on Steemit. I'm feeling much more confident. I'm still going to work hard to get that 4 star but i'm happy with my books.

Absolutely, if you are happy then I think you should stick with the name and everything!

I buy everything on Amazon and 4 stars is just fine. And there are very few times that I paid attention to the sellers name. Just keep up the good work.

I'm so glad thank you :)
