Why YOU Should Have A Strict Sleep Schedule

I've been strict with myself lately, Strict on when I eat, Strict when I sleep. It's annoying following all these "rules." But I've seen massive amounts of benefits lately.

You Will Sleep better

I cut myself off of caffeine around 2:00 P.m. I then Don't eat a dinner, Because it can keep me awake later.
I am eventually in bed at 8:00 P.m. And the sun hasn't even gone down yet.
A few weeks ago, I didn't have a sleep schedule. I worked myself to the point I couldn't handle it anymore, Then I would go to sleep. Wake up and do it all over again.
My sleep quality was horrible. I felt like garbage.
Some days I'd sleep 8 hours other days only 5. I woke up feeling even more tired then I was the day before. And the constant work I was required to do was rapidly wearing me down.
When I started my sleep schedule. I still felt a bit crappy upon waking up, But it slowly started to improve, and I gradually felt better.
Until I got to the point, I woke up feeling so "wired" I would have almost all of my tasks for the day done by 11:00 AM! This was something I saw as impossible. Because my daily tasks would consume my whole day.

Our bodies thrive on routines. This is why it's so easy to fall into them! That consistency allows your brain to prepare for sleep, and so your sleep quality improves.

You Can Better Plan Your day!

When I had this messed up sleep schedule. I stayed up as long as I could trying to get as much as I could do, Because I had no idea what time I'd wake up, and if I would have enough time to get my work done.
It was stressful and scary. Especially when I woke up late, Around 9:00 P.m. And I had work due by 1:00 A.m Or 12. Knowing when you'll get up will allow you to make plans for fun in your life, Or work. You can also get work done faster.

You will have better health

Some studies suggest that people who stick with a schedule are healthier, Probably because they are getting enough sleep.
Also, have smaller waistlines. Who knows if that one is true, But when you sleep. You can't eat, So you 'll consume fewer calories!

Conclusion

We all know that sleeping can be inconvenient at times, Especially when we want to keep enjoying our day. But having a set schedule can make you feel better, Be more productive, And just make your life easier. Don't fall into the trap that I did, Thinking if I stayed up another 6 or so hours, That I'd get more done. When the reality is, I could of went to bed, then woke up early and I probably would have gotten the same amount done anyways.

You mean I'm doing it wrong when I work hard all day until I can't do it anymore and then fall asleep whenever and wherever it happens? There is no schedule whatsoever to it. Thanks for the tip! ;-)

Exactly! That was what I did too. But I realized that not doing that actually makes me more productive lol

Cool, thanks!

Yes that is actually not a good practice, following a schedule will make you feel better and more energetic and productive...

I'll have to switch it up then. I was thinking that a schedule may be better for me, thanks.

I think sometimes people "eat right" or "sleep right" or do things that they know that is good for themselves, they do it just one time, they don't feel any effect, and stop. It's just my guess based on seeing people sleeping shitty, eating crappily, and many other little things that they put off as something that doesn't effecting them, meanwhile their body is dogpiled by negative things and moods get effected as does life. Get some will power and do the better things for yourself and give change time to occur, be patient. Sorry for the morning rant, your post got me steemed. Pun intended.

LOVE YOUR COMMENT! Seriously, People expect instant results.
Hehehe!! Thanks for contributing to this.
I agree completely. Sometimes it takes time. when I first corrected my schedule I didn't see a difference, But overtime I noticed my productivity levels go up and I felt better throughout the day.

I think you can be strict for a while, but soon enough you will get used to eat, sleep and go to the bathroom at the same time everyday, your body get used automatically to periodicity, you just have to train yourself to do so... But is also true that you can easy get out of this schedule if you have not enough discipline... And yes, benefit of having a regular life are huge!

So true!! I am getting to that point slowly. I start to feel tired at the same time, and hungry etc.

Totally agree with all the points of your post... sleep deficiency can increase risk of heart disease, kidney disease,etc...Sleep is essential for a person's health and well-being.

So true!! People don't take sleep as seriously as they should

I cut myself off of caffeine around 2:00 P.m.

I did the exact same thing about a year ago. And started sticking to a regular sleep schedule. It has had a huge impact on my sleep and energy levels (I used to have terrible trouble sleeping).

Same! It's amazing how changing small habits can have a big impact.

exactly the reasons my mom keeps listing, yet I've been unable to execute it. i'm certainly sleep deprived. thanks for reminding me again why I should fix it!

Sometimes Moms are right LOL

the keyword here being 'sometimes' :)

Despite having known various advantages of strict sleeping schedule, I can't pull myself to sleep early and I mostly end up becoming a night owl. Do you suggest me anything so that I can sleep better? or even you can make post on it, I will be happy to hear your response :)

Yes :) I'll write a post tomorrow :) Thanks for the idea

Great article! I've read that going to bed earlier and sticking to a sleep schedule is better for your natural circadian rhythm. It helps keep your hormones and mood balanced. I've also found that like you said sticking to a set time to wake up everyday no matter what helps your body gets used to it and therefore makes you fall asleep faster.

Exactly! I love that you brought this up! i feel like I was dealing with hormone issues for a while, But sense I've kept a more regular sleep schedule I feel better overall.

Yeah... Maybe i start thinking on do it... I sleep just 5 or less hours and it's becoming a real issue... I'm already with intermittent fastening but after I achieve that I'll go with this. Thanks.

WOw! That sounds really hard especially with the fasting!

Sleep, water and exercise. The antidote to everything.

AGREEED! Everyone hates me for always recommending Water! But its so true LOL

Keep recommending it ! ;)

nice...you deserve upvote and resteem...

Checked all the boxes on the benefits.
You might also want to add a few things that assist with starting the new pattern.
Shifting other things in your daily routine plays a huge role, such as the last meal of the day, no brain stimulants, such as tea, coffee or internet. Setting the mood by dimming the lights and orange or red light calms us down making it easier to fall off to sleep once we are in bed.

hmm whenever i sleep early then that's like 3am. i can't remember when i slept by 8:00pm. Thank for your advice.

A sleep schedule is not only a recipe for a healthier happier more productive life; it is a lever to change the world to better)))

Resteemed :)

Not following these schedules must be the reason I haven't been writing on Steem lately. I've been too tired to do anything productive for months. And again, it's 0:08 already.

I usually drink beer if I can't sleep 😴 I also read books so that I can sleep. Thanks for sharing your thoughts 💭

Nice post. I have some trouble lately whit sleeping to little. Tnx.

No problem :)

I am trying to be better about keeping a schedule, going to sleep early, waking up earlier. It is hard, but it is worth it! Waking up with the Sun is the best, though I rarely achieve this feat.

Co-sign... when I was able to get dedicated sleep (7 - 9 hrs at regular times), I was more energetic and I regularly dropped 1 - 2.5 lbs during sleep.

This also helps a lot with people with anxiety and depression. I for one suffer from bipolar disorder and sleep is a HUGE thing for me. This is a great and helpful post :) Thanks!

I do envy people who find sleep almost immediately their heads hit the pillow. I just can't relate but now I am surso my sleeping pattern would change. I am indeed blessed by this post. Thanks

I recently began regulating my sleep schedule. I have worked 48 hour shifts for 20 years on an ambulance. It is hard to regulate at home because at work we sleep whenever or not much at all. For the past month or so I have done my best to get to bed by 9:30 pm or so and I am a new person. The difference is amazing. I get up early, have more energy and accomplish so much more.

Is it mostly just about the amount of sleep or having an exact time routine (even if you dont sleep more hours) can help too?

Go to bed early and wake up early there is no better things than that, that's why if you have a party at night don't even invited me cause I'm not coming
