Concentration is a vital discipline that is becoming more and more apparently in decline. This post to me is very personal because I've seen the decline in my own ability to concentrate and have discovered through science and meditation why this is so. Please let me know in the comments below if this is something you can relate to.
Peoples minds are completely online! What I mean by this is that humans have obviously lost touch with themselves, their family and their community all for the sake of being liked online.
The online world is a reward based algorithm that methodically learns your likes! Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube etc. are designed to learn what you like and give you more of the same. Not only does it give you what you like, it rewards you for doing things other people like by giving you likes! What's the big deal right? Well, what most don't know is, that every time we get a like or see something we like a shot of dopamine is released in the brain, making us addicted to the like! It's no secret that the social media world is in a frenzy for the like, people will do all sorts of non sensical things to ride the wave of the like and get that dopamine fix. The lit, savage and crazy culture that is online is all based on the like! Like and subscribe, like and comment etc. All this action shapes our online worlds making it a safe haven for things you like by people who like you; but do you and do they? Unplugging from this "like" world leaves most feeling anxious, irritated, confused and after awhile bored. This is after many years of like transactions online and a dopamine receptor system that isn't stimulating the same over the likeness. So, you start looking for other things to like and for others who like you. You don't even have to leave your room, all you have to do is click like! All the news, information and sports you want can be designed conveniently on your feed by a like.
BUT then you have to do chores and you don't like that and eventually you have to cook for yourself and you don't like that, and sooner or later you have to go to work and you don't like that, you have to deal with your boss, your peers and your family who don't seem to like you as much in real life as they do online. This is everyday life for so many people around us that it begins to bend whats fantasy from whats real. The social engineers know exactly what they are doing! They are guiding your concentration to your likes and those who like you to keep you completely unbalanced. And an unbalanced person is just that much more easier to exploit. When you are someone who is not disciplined in concentration your reaction to stimuli will not be unique to your individual; instead it will be that of the herd or group of your likeness. Who are the people of your likeness on social media and how do you truly know you are of the same like, when you both have never concentrated and reasoned on what you truly like!? The answer is, you can't and thats why the engineers are pushing on us these careless and carefree personas and making us become like them. These online personas are absolutely artificial by design and they will always be on your timeline because you are becoming more and more like them, every time you like them!....and that is "like" why you cant concentrate.
with absolute surrender,
Joe
