The book THE SPIRIT OF CHANGE is about the activist spirit in leaders and how to awaken it through compassion. It explores the role of compassion and forgiveness in changing the world. But the most important message in The Spirit of Change is not to be a "compassionaholic," but to be a compassion activist. The book also includes chapters on Obasesam Okoi, Faith Jackson, and Bill Hull.

Bill Hull
If you're new to the idea of discipleship, you may be intrigued by the book Bill Hull and The Spirit of Change. A pastor and author of numerous books, Bill Hull was once a charismatic university student who later became a church leader. Bill Hull uses Jesus as his ultimate model, seeking to strike a balance between the Word of God and the Spirit. Hull shares personal experiences of gospel power and conviction that may help you to grow in your faith.

Bill Hull's book offers time-honored tools for developing disciples, such as incorporating the gospel into worship and discipleship practices. However, he tends to criticize pastors who don't subscribe to his philosophy. In fact, his critique of regular preaching practices is largely unfounded, and Hull neglects the importance of establishing these practices to build morale and community spirit. The book is highly applicable to both newly formed and established churches.

Obasesam Okoi
Obasesam Okoi, The Author of Obasesam Okoi, The Book, is an Assistant Professor of Justice and Peace Studies at the University of St Thomas in Minnesota. He teaches courses in Peace Engineering, Public Policy Analysis and Advocacy, and Global Social Policy. In addition, he is an Associate Editor of the Journal of African Security and the Editorial Board of Third World Thematics. He is a frequent speaker at conferences, workshops, and other events.

Obasesam Okoi draws on principles of leadership to offer thought-provoking insight. He explains the nature of leaders needed in our generation and the ways in which individuals can inspire meaningful change. His examples and personal story are relevant to the current political climate. While he does not make the claims of an ideal leader, he offers a practical roadmap to achieving that goal. Ultimately, The Spirit of Change reveals the importance of leaders in our world, and how we can become them.

Faith Jackson
Faith is not a new idea for the Jackson family. Amy Jackson's mother, Wanda, was raised a Catholic and identifies as a nondenominational Protestant. She has been a public defender and has served on a bipartisan commission on criminal sentencing. In her recent presidential run, Jackson has expressed gratitude for her spiritual roots, which are deeply rooted in her family and religion. But when asked to describe her religion, she declined to say.

In 2003, she began praying for the hurting people in south Brooksville. There she observed drug deals, prostitution, and anger among young men and women. She believed that her faith could spur change. In early 2007, her "prayer walk" became a regular event. She invited her church's evangelism team and joined an intercessionary prayer team. She has since spoken on the topic of faith and racial injustice.
